Splitting into the teeth (quad gun) will make an unhindered opp's point-making plays even better for him. Often the best way to counter an offensive opening is with an offensive reply. We could try to delay opp's building chances by hitting loose on the deuce. Then the split would be less dangerous (and more threatening). The other option is simply to play copycat. Given the safety and good location of our outfield builders after the latter, I'm going with that choice:
