As i said, perhaps you have to go to the heart of darkness. Why is the winner playing? The simple answer is: beside the fun, proud or other things - he wins money. But why plays the loser? Because he have fun to lose? Because it is an honor to lose against Neil Kazaross? Perhaps there is a secondary/morbid gain for the loser. In the old times (very instructive Danny Kleinman "Do you know a polite word to say pigeon?"), the loser could say: i'm biased, my arm is not so strong, i'm the mad backgame genius and contaminated. But in the bot times he will soon discover what he is: PR 10, week as a fish. It is now clear that he, the pigeon, is the only raison d'ętre of the chouette. In the old days, the compulsive gambler stayed longer in the loss and desolation zone. Today, not only the pros switched to poker, but also the customers. In backgammon, you will see everything. In poker, the customers can longer feed the illusion of win. And don't say, this is not reality:

"A review of problem gambling in forensic populations suggests that one third of criminal offenders meet criteria for problem or pathological gambling. This is the highest rate yet found in any population. Approximately 50% of crime by incarcerated problem and pathological gamblers is reportedly committed to support gambling. The prevalence of gambling within correctional facilities (40%) appears lower than in the general population. However, inmates who do gamble tend to do so regularly, and problem and pathological gamblers are disproportionately represented among this group. ..." Williams, Royston, Hagan. Gambling and Problem Gambling Within Forensic Populations: A Review of the Literature. Criminal Justice and Behavior December 2005 vol. 32 no. 6 665-689

If the snowie guys will set up finally their holdem bot, with post hoc analysis of a session, getting a PR, perhaps cockfight betting could be the next thing. Meanwhile, the BG pros are eating thyself (Florida: 16 in the championship!). Or they develop a different trading policy. I have bought my baffle box.
