Problem 1 21/... oh, nevermind. Staying on the midpoint might be an annoyance to White for a roll or two but doesn't force an immediate shot. Blue is just about out of time. The anchor is going to have to work extra hard at covering in case White blots in the next few rolls. 13/7, 13/9

Problem 2 Straight (pipcount) race indicates borderline take/pass. Blue won't leave a shot this turn, will clear the 10-point with 17 rolls, break the 8- or 7-point with 11 rolls, and hold the fort with the remainder (8 rolls). White has one or two rolls before he has to either start crunching or abandon the anchor. I don't know what is technically right, but do note that unless you're playing a rock, if you take this and win the game you will generate some steam equity, and that's more likely if opp knows you should pass. D+T

Problem 3 13/8 and find the better ace. Either way a covering number for opp is duped. I count 26 vs 20 shots, which is nothing to sneeze at. Maybe the returns are better after 8/7 but the 5-point is a better make. QF says "8/7". OtB says "6/5". (Stick says "neither, chump.") 13/8, 6/5
