Turkey - EU relationship

In Response To: Turkey - EU relationship (Casper van der Tak)

Geographically, Turkey is part in Europe , part in Asia.. In sports turkish players compete in all european events.

Culture of modern Turkey founded by Kemal Atatürk is very much european.

Historically, Turkey was part of the Roman Empire with Istanbul (Constantinople) was capital of Eastern Roman Empire for ages.

and Turkey played a big part in history of Eastern Europe..until before 1st world war they held almost all Balkan countries.

I'd say they're european as greeks or bulgarians.

and last, Turkey has better business and trade with Europe then with Asia.
