This post of yours and others on this subject have been useful to me for the reasons you have expressed.
The USBGF recognizes that new players at the lowest level is where the most potential for growth is.
We are making efforts to begin clubs and competitions in and between schools and colleges, form school clubs, and educate faculty members to the benefits of learning and playing.
We are trying to work with local clubs and tournament directors to participate in live and online tournaments we sponsor.
We offer many educational opportunities for members and even a match with an expert as an incentive to join.
We have started the process of reaching out to the poker, bridge, and chess communities.
We believe international cooperation can lead to major gains for all of the participating countries.
We are making the solicitation of sponsors a major effort and have prepared a prospectus.
We have an active Facebook page that offers free video tips and other info.
We have a shortage of volunteers to staff all of the activities we would like to move ahear on and our budget is limited in terms of what we can pay for human resources. But we do have some funds available that we can use for programs that can be justified.
