A tale of two elo's

Bob,
Both players would have the same rating number, 4.00.
Player A: 80/20 = 4.00 (average points/event in 2008 which has a weighting factor of 1)
Player B: 80/20 = 4.00 (average points/event in 2012 which has a weighting factor of 5)
The actual formula is:
(W1*P1 + W2*P2 x W3*P3 + W4*P4 + W5*P5) / (W1*E1 + W2*E2 + W3*E3 + W4*E4 + W5*E5)
where:
W1 ... W5: Weight for each of the past 5 years. W1=1, W2=2, etc. W5 is the most current year
P1 ... P5: Number of points in each of the past five years.
E1 ... E5: Number of events in each of the past 5 years with E5 being the most current year.
The official ranking should exclude people whose denominator in the above formula fell below some minimum value like 50. Player A has a denominator of 20; player B has 100, so player A would no longer show up on the list. Player A would be regarded as no longer active.
