If I owe money

Stick, I have a better memory than most, but even I forget sometimes. I can't remember the last time I forgot something, which proves it! So if somehow, somewhere, sometime, I fail to pay a debt, don't be shy, remind me.
Take The Brothers Karamazov. In 1970 Eileen Ripperger told me it was her favorite book, and loaned it to me. I never got around to reading it, and never returned it. I moved from Chicago long ago, and have no idea where that book wound up, but I don't have it. (I do have another copy, which I have read.) I haven't seen Eileen since 1973, and if I bumped into her somewhere, I have a feeling that in the excitement of the moment the last thing I would be thinking about would be Russian literature. ("Last" is an exaggeration. I'd probably rank a lot of things lower on the list of "things to think about when meeting Eileen," such as sewage treatment in Mumbai, or the composition of the rings of Saturn, or Dick Cheyney's sex life, but it would be low.)
I've only ever borrowed one classic Russian novel from my old friend Eileen, whereas I have lost money at backgammon tournaments many times. So remind me. And, if you forget to pay me, I'll give you the same benefit of the doubt. You forgot; I'll remind you.
