"A few months go by and you see Mr stick . He does not mention the 600. Aha! This certainly backups the notion that he cheated me. I wait for him to ask wanting to see if i can get a read .He never asks."
I do not know you or Stick beyond names on a bg forum that are both top end players.
What 'read' are you looking for, and how does Stick not reminding you about the money you owed him back up your unsubstantiated notion that he cheated you? Is it only you he cheated, or does he cheat everyone but blundered by picking on you because you are smart and figured it out? I imagine a cheat would prefer to cheat somebody lower on the ladder rather than at his own level who is more experienced and likelier to sound it out, but that's just me.
My read is that you owed him money, your own account says you were aware of your debt and you were able to pay but chose not to. You may have felt cheated, in which case it is your prerogative not to play Stick again, but to avoid your obligation by casting aspersions that he cheated you and without a shred of persuasive evidence in support beyond convenient suppositions is poor testimony to your own character.
As other long time bg'ers I have been owed money many times by respected players and also by trash, street urchins and the type that would have you count your fingers after shaking hands. I do not recall ever having to remind or prod a respected player into paying up, but in my experience the latter as a group are tend to regard a debt as something that need not be paid if it can be avoided, internally justified or creatively denied, and strung out if it cannot. I should also add that one of these groups tend to enjoy thicker skins.
