Timothy Chow: It's possible to say some things. But from experience, I know that any numbers that one generates from this data will inevitably be misinterpreted and abused, so I'm personally not inclined to offer any assistance with producing such numbers.

Bill Phipps: I don’t share this perspective at all and, frankly, I have little respect for it. Feel free to sit this one out. I will find help elsewhere.

Bill -- I'm a math geek too, and I agree with Timothy Chow 100%. Frankly, this isn't a question of perspective... it's simply the right way to think about and perform statistical inference. You should form a hypothesis first, then gather data.
