Casper is right that I'm not so much worried about your drawing incorrect conclusions as about the way any calculations you make will be abused by others.

Also, it's not that I don't want to "participate in the process." I don't want to assist with the calculations, that much is true. I do want to alert people to the dangers of doing this kind of calculation. The fact that you respond to such an alert by interpreting it as a personal attack and ignoring the scientific point I was making indicates to me that even though you may be well-meaning, with personal integrity, you don't sufficiently appreciate how scientifically invalid it is to statistically analyze data retrospectively.

From your comments here I am inferring that you lack scientific inquisitiveness, initiative and ingenuity.

This could be true, but I don't think it's relevant to the issue at hand. The validity of the point about the dangers of retrospective statistical analysis doesn't depend on the personal scientific merits of the person stating it (in this case, me).
