For the record, I was, and still am, not sure how to interpret your

Gnubg ER ignores forced moves, etc., unlike Snowie, so Gnubg ER is ... well, somewhere between 1.4 and 2 times higher than Snowie's (emphasis mine).

Isn't Snowie ER calculated by dividing EMG loss of one player by total number of moves (not pairs), and that's why it's usually much lower than gnubg-style ER

Do we agree now that the first parts of both our statements are correct and that the "so" and "that's why", respectively, are not outright wrong, but overly simplified?
