Watch the video. Harold was completely outclassed, making double whoppers right and left. To me it was also clear that he was playing scared. When you consider this, a slim double by Stick is even chancier that it would be otherwise. Stick would have regretted it had Harold taken either of these, and managed to eke out a doubled win (or better). If Stick thought Harold might take, then he should not be cubing.

It is not so much that these are unjustified doubles, but simply that they are small doubles, if they are doubles at all. We’re on the wrong side of the doubling window. The takes are too easy, and the markets don’t seem to be closing. In practice, I think you or I might wait a bit before doubling. As I watched, that was exactly the feeling I had.

But after Stick got away with the first one, you could see the second coming from a mile away.
