When Should Intermediates Move into the Open? an Intermediates perspective

i've had this debate several times myself and i'm still not sure where i truly belong. on one hand, i feel that if i played in the open i would certainly be at the lower end of the open players. i have played and beaten open level players both live and online but i feel i lack the consistency to truly do well at that level. while my PR has improved, i can play at the 4 or 5 level one match then double digit the next. my live tourney experience is somewhat limited also as i've only played in 5 tourney's and cashed once. while i feel i could benefit from the experience, i guess the main reason is cost. i'm a cheap bastard and have a hard time justifying paying twice the cost to have half as good a chance to cash
