Olympics around the corner (not OT)

We're inundated with competitions, and when there is a competition we usually have to pick one side or the other. That's the nature of it. Not only don't I know Nevzat, but I've never even heard of him. (That's not his fault but mine.) I have met Michi and he's a class guy, just like 90+% of the Japanese I've ever met. (Yes, Danes are class people, too.) I've watched Michi play in MC and at the Chicago Open, although I've never played against him. He told me he likes beer -- how bad that can that be?? :)
My first choice is to side with class people, although that is difficult to quantify. Assholes have no place in my space. I mention the Olympics because those (IMO) are the best athletic competitions in existence and they (the Summer Games) are two weeks away. If it's a tossup or I don't know the participants I'm likely going to pull for my countrymen. Similarly, if I know one participant and not the other (and I like the person I know) in backgammon then I'm pulling for familiarity. No disrespect to Nevzat, but...
Go, Michi!
