Dealing with hyper-agressive players

There is another way to look at this.
But, once you anchor, your opponent may not make any more misplays.
He may not make more blitzing misplays but surely he'll make more misplays. Something to consider (which may not actually fit Leonardo's "hyper-aggressive" opponent situation) is that if a player is most comfortable playing a certain type of game (e.g. blitzes) then taking him out of his comfort zone could lead him to make even bigger errors, either because he doesn't know how to play those different types of games or (better yet) because he loses interest due to the loss of excitement.
One thing that makes playing blitzish opponent's frustrating is that when you're on the bar you can't play any better than the worst backgammon player in history.
There is a potential (but imperfect) NLH analogy -- the push monkey. A player who is either all in or folding obviously isn't playing optimal poker, but I can imagine there are hands where you would avoid butting heads with this person where you might actually take on a strong player in the same (i.e. all-in) situation. Of course in poker there are many other variables, such as position (of both players), stack sizes, M-factor, etc. (That's why I hedged with the word 'imperfect' :).
