I think you are just partially right.

DMP is for one ( a) part of the match , there are plenty of scores where the cube behaviour is also very clear. You either cube as soon as it look gammonish or you stay the hell away until it is time to cash. In between you need to make score related plays .Each score has its own type of play. Either $,GS, GG or DMP.

All 4 require different type of plays. With that in mind DMP in my view should be taken in account as you can go wrong at that score.
