8/2 for sure, where's the five? In terms of return hits on all three blots, it's pretty close by my count: 6/1* leads to 17 single hits and 3 double hits, 23/18 leads to 17 single hits and 4 double hits. But suppose the ace point blot is missed; would Blue even want to make it with a 5 or 4? I don't think so -- we're anchor vs. anchor and a long way to go. Whether White hits, fans, or enters without hitting, Blue will want to make the 5 point. Suppose White enters with 33 34 or 36, or fans with nine numbers. Blue has work to do after either play and the ace point slot surely isn't a clear asset. Finally, if White enters with 11 12 or 16 -- these seem to be the key swing numbers -- Blue's a lot better off after 23/18, so that's what I'd play.
