At the base of the words *sport* and *athlete* has to be the word 'physical' at some point. Swimming is certainly a sport in my eyes. As for your tongue-in-cheek question, Falafel is no athlete and Phelps, well, women don't go bat shit crazy over swimmers' bodies for nothing.
