This was created a few years ago when I was running the BG Club in Munich. We played this system on a monthly basis and I was able to optmizie is.
The first international appearance of this system was at the Mallorca Challenge 2011 with Fuat Erdag emerging victorious with 10 consecutive match victories.
The system is a sort of Round-Robin which prevents match dumping and other fishy stuff, because every victory counts and every loss is deadly. Itīs not a Swiss system and keeps the thrill until the end of a tournament.
Intermediates and Beginners played this system during the German Masters 2 weeks ago and greatly enjoyed it, as far as I got feedback from players. It gives the players a lot to play for their entry fee (except those who lose 3 matches in a row, but losing 3 matches in a row would also mean "game over" with the usual system of Main, Conso and Last Chance).
It can be applied to small turnouts as well as large number of players and match lengths can be adjusted according to the schedule. It also allows rebuys, keeping the action flowing while inflating the prize pool.
Meanwhile, the system has been copyrighted and registered as "WBA Tournament Format" as Intellectual Property of WBA.
Iīll have to discuss this possibility in Istanbul with Fuat and Ali to implement minor changes and additions to the software.
