Many thanks for posting this letter, and how the system came about.

I do not believe that we are engaged in a vicious debate or anything like that, it is more about the general, abstract question under what conditions any ideas should be patentable (if at all). Any ideas, not only BG.

I also don't believe that anywhere else in this threat the debate is vicious or anything. And it seems to me that nobody is suggesting anything but free use of the idea / system.
