Chouette Tournament

Jacoby rule? If not here is a situation that could make a player mad.
A in box holds C's cube on 2, B as captain has centered cube and 20 points. C in crew has 4 points.
If B is running off a gammon it would be strategic to not run off the gammon. It costs B the same 1 point either way but B's choice swings two points from C to A. That looks to be better. C is eliminated with A and B both having 19 points giving a 50-50. If C saves the two points then C would be captain with 2 points B would be crew with 19 and A box with 17. B still has half the points but is in a worse situation since i) C would play with different goals than B would have. For example if C's cube is turned it would be DMP strategy for him. and ii) If C gets the box C has the advantage of someimtes being able to win morepointsthan he could lose.
Would B losing the gammon on purpose be acceptable? If no, there are other situations which are not as drastic but with a similar idea coming into play.
