Giuliano,

"I had to share this," you wrote, but no, you didn't. Rick apparently didn't care for the perceived "tone" of your email to him, and you didn't care for his response. The "I was judging the [ironic-arrogant-prick-like] tone used, not the [ironic-arrogant-prick-like] person" excuse isn't working for me, since either way it seems that your intention in making private email public was to embarrass Rick. If I were him, I don't think I'd much appreciate the subtle difference. I wouldn't feel embarrassed, either, frankly.

Over the years, expert players and diligent students have individually collected and organized hundreds if not thousands of reference positions important to them. Perhaps you do in fact appreciate how much work such study entails, but perhaps you might also have a little more appreciation for why an out of the blue email request to "send me many useful reference positions with full data and analysis notes if possible" might provoke a testy response.

I agree with your observation today that it seems that what you were asking for involves a lot more than you thought. In building your reference position library, however, by all means take advantage of the work of the many players who have made public the fruits of their efforts. For instance:
