Ok, mark this day on your calendars, I agree with Bill.

I find playing with a clock much cleaner than playing without one. I cannot speak to the rate of play in Pittsburgh, I have never played there. If they never use a clock, I never will.

When I played in Novi, I played a 3 point match verses an intermediate player. He did not want to use a clock but I convinced him to play the match with 22 minutes on both sides. He had never used a clock before but by the end of the the match he could see why I wanted to use it. Backgammon is MUCH more enjoyable with a clock.
