This should be written into clock rules that a player cannot be forced to forfeit his roll for punching the clock prior to rolling. Of then someone might do it every turn to be a nuisance and any director with a clue would stop it, but certainly one caution should be enough before the player is then penalized.

One of the objections newer players have to clocks is things like this. We should never attempt to take advantage of players' mechanical clock errors.

I'm completely on board with Neil on this one. It is far too easy to make these kinds of mistakes, and if we want a gentlemanly game, it's all to easy to correct it. I'm on board with this getting codified into the rules.
