RECOMMENDATION to all Open Players in Pittsburgh

In Response To: Pgh LAbor Day BG Tourn- Director's Decision (Alfred Mamlet)

Since most of us prefer clocks and believe the game is a better game with clocks, I hereby agree to play with a clock every match with any player who will agree to as well, even though it is not required. Yes, a few players will say no, but at least all of use who want to see clocks in the future can prove without question that that is the will and vote of the players by doing so voluntarily. Hopefully, eventually, the few players and tournament directors that have not gotten on board will see how the great majority of players feel about it and see that we are willing to "impose" clocks on ourselves even when not required, and hopefully, out of respect for the "majority" feeling and out of respect for the opinion of such great players as Neil and others who believe a clock is essential for the future and fairness and skill of the game, they will come around. Hopefully, this will not be an issue soon, and hopefully, clocks will spread to the Intermediate Division as well, as for all the same reasons it will make their games fairer and more enjoyable (though their settings, at least for the first couple of years, can be more generous).

So please join me in using clocks in every match in Pittsburgh whether it is required or not. Let's vote with our fingers and let's solve the problem for the 90 percent of us who feel that clocks are important to the game.
