I see two plays, each with different GP's. 24/18, 10/5 tries to build the homeboard first with hopes of hitting later. 13/7*, 13/8 does the opposite -- hitting now and THEN building the board while White is trying to escape.

At DMP, with gammon losses no worse than simple losses, there is pull to attack first. The bonus is that when this fails Blue should get more chances to hit later. The downside is that White may get to move his checkers home while Blue is on the bar, reducing Blue's later hitting chances considerably.

Hitting is so often best, even at $-like scores. For that reason I'm going the second route. Not at all sure, though.
