Hand recording while on the clock

Some say I risk playing poorly or too quickly. I have found the opposite is true. My PR is generally in the 5.2 - 5.4 range on average. But the PR of my hand recorded matches is in the 4.5 range with a median of just under 4.0. I believe this is because I am generally a fast player and hand recording actually slows me down. I am often taking a 2nd or 3rd glance of the board as I transcribe my play.
All joking aside, no, seriously, I mean it (this time)....
The situation you describe could be interpreted as illegal use of outside aids. Long ago (when digicams became affordable, so you know what I mean by "long time") I started requesting an opponent to state his/her play before taking a picture of the position, just to prevent any edge that viewing the position through a camera could give. Recently Phil convinced I was just being paranoid. Now you make me wonder (again).
But no hard feelings. You can still hand record our matches when you and I play, as long as you continue to send me a copy. The miniscule (IMO) edge that you get has to be offset by the learning experience for me.
