Are the names coming from the XG match database?

In Response To: Too Good positions can be used as a trap. Export Position from Match and Position from Position (svilo)

This suggestion is based on the fact that player names are stored in the SQL match database that is maintained behind the scenes in XG. I wonder if XG is somehow pulling the names from there, rather than the XGP files you have created.

Try exporting the match to text (with the command File -> Export -> Session to text...), and then open the resulting text file with Notepad. Inside you will see the codes XG uses to key its SQL match database. They are the lines at the top of the file that begin with a semicolon (;). Delete them all. Next, manually change the players names in the match text below (using Find and Replace), and then reimport the match.

Do not: 1. save the imported match, 2. analyze it, or 3. post it to player profiles.

Try exporting your positions to XGP files.

I am not sure this will make a difference, but I think it is worth a try. If you decide that this is a workaround solution, then you can decide whether to save the imported match, and so on.
