The first option is making the advanced anchor and playing the awkward looking 9/8. Other choices involve improving the prime by shifting 8/7(2) and then finding a couple deuces.
In the latter branch, we could slot the 8-point, trying for the nice 5-prime. If we do that we have the choice of making a blocked anchor (24/23) which is safe for now but no bargain even if we can make the 8-point or playing constructively (and riskily) with 23/22. Instead of slotting, 9/7 has the same awkward look as 9/8 in the other branch and it does nothing to improve things in opp's HB. 24/22 and 23/21 are also options, getting in position to either anchor high or escape one. IMO these seem better than either 'safer' alternative. And all are tweeners between 22(2), 9/8 and 9/7, 8/7, 23/22. Thus these are my final two candidates.
The advanced anchor seems strong enough to me to risk the awkward spare location. It also risks opp's 65 anchor and some 6x and 5x rolls which start the long escape process. I can live with those, too.
22(2), 9/8
