And yet Michael, this is exactly how things are on a site that caters to social players who did complain about getting proper dice.

Will Womack has dubbed it "HackGammon". I'm not saying casual Backgammon players aren't real Backgammon Players, however I think one can cater to that online social crowd.
For 1+ years SHG had improper dice before Neil Robbins stumbled upon the problem. World Class players played there without any issue. And there wasn't a complaint from them that the dice were bad. In fact, when I look back I realized that the people who seemed to know there was a problem were the social players. What were the social players saying about SHG dice? That they were convinced the dice were less lopsided and fairer than World Gaming Center, and the MSN Gaming Zone. Not often you see people saying that they like the dice. That should have sent read flags up for me, but I assumed like most that there wasn't an issue.
So I ask people this. For the 1+ year that people played (including World Class Players) at SHG with dice that were flawed - did they feel at the time that they weren't playing Backgammon? I'd say no, since they didn't complain and continued to play on the site. Only after they learned the truth that the doubles were only 60% f what they should have been was there a big outcry. What people didn't know didn't hurt them at the time.
