XG Mobile Marketing train wreck

Comparing XG Mobile to other backgammon apps is like comparing a root beer float to a Bentley.
If someone wants to spend $200 for a fine bottle of wine, or $25 for a good cigar, or $1000 for a good backgammon board, that's their business. Who am I to tell them the price is too high?
I would have gladly paid much more than $10 for XG Mobile for all the wonderful use I have already put it to on almost a daily basis at tournament, chouettes, and when traveling.
I, and others, would have gladly paid 4 or 5 times as much for XG than Xavier charged for it, especially when we compare it to Snowie where we had paid 8 times as much (and at the time, it was a reasonable price for what it did).
If you think $10 is too much for XG, don't buy it. But to tell others it's too much money for the product and to tell others how much value for the dollar it has for them is folly. And to tell the developer how much he should charge is also out of line--it's his business to determine how much of a return on his investment of time and intellect he wants to receive. He knows he would sell more at $5 than at $10.
Personally, I think he was wrong to price it at $10 and I told him so in advance. I told him that just about every knowledgeable backgammon player in the world would gladly pay $20 for his amazing product, and I also told him, before he came out with XG, that he would sell just about as many for $100 as he would at $50 and he'd make a lot more money. Xavier decided to price both his products much lower than he knew tournament players would pay because he wanted to reach a lot more of the general public and get them more excited and educated about backgammon. In this case, he's done a fantastic job, as you can get XG Mobile COMPLETELY FREE if you are not sophisticated enough to want the advanced features of the $10 model.
If I have ever seen a post that is off base, unfair, and pretentious (to tell others what something is worth to them) this is it.
