I ask again, how many casual players downloading Free Backgammon Apps are gong to take a pair of dice around with them to play Backgammon. I believe the majority of casual users would balk at the idea that they should take a pair of dice around with them and roll them out on their smartphone/tablet. I can possibly see an expert player wanting this functionality, but I do not believe casual players would.

Would I take dice with me? No, most times when I want a quick game of something it is for 3-10 mins maximum. Often it is in situations like public transportation where I have a bit of time to kill. I already know the dice generation on established and credible software is good enough so I wouldn't care.
