When I said 60% I was off the top of my head. I didn't go back to review the numbers. I threw out 60% as an estimate. At the time, I didn't feel the number mattered given that it was sufficiently low by anyone's standard. I wasn't aware anyone was going to use it as a benchmark for continued study. Doubles appeared 9.2% of the time instead of 16.67%.

A simplification of what is occurring is - at random a double is thrown away and re rolled. It is more complex than that, but that is a close approximation. The underlying random number generator of these dice though is Merseenne Twister.
