You said you have a nice place to play at your place -- I assume a clubroom, gameroom, activity room or whatever. Set your board up and start playing on it a bit -- preferably with another, but even if just setting up positions by yourself to study and analyze. Might even be better alone if someone sees you need someone to play with.

Some will come along and remark about having used to have played backgammon. Get them to sit down and play a little. It will grow.

I was playing a guy just last week on an outdoor table at a restaurant here in Houston. A couple of women stopped and started talking about how much they love to play backgammon, etc. Probably every other time we play there someone stops by and remarks on the game.

As the old adage goes, you never get any if you don't ask. Let the board ask for you.
