There are some other pluses to slotting the 7-point, including duplication of White's building and hitting 6's. After 13/8 (which is common to both), Blue's midpoint has 2 spares so 13/7 doesn't carry the concern of stripping the midpoint.

Of White's hitting rolls after Blue's slot, the hitting checker is vulnerable to a return hit except for 65. 22 (particularly) and 42 are also duplicated (building vs hitting).

Arguments against the slot are the close race and the fact that hitting starts the escape with tempo particularly if among {62,63,64}.

13/8, 13/7 looks good to me, too.
