Is backgammon like golf?

I never considered this even though I am an avid golfer and used to be an avid BG-player.
In golf I focus a lot on the process. It's a great joy to hit good golf shots. It's almost like the perfect shot can make the entire day. In golf it is possible for me to lose and still go home happy if I feel like I played well and hit many controlled shots.
In backgammon you don't hit any "orgasmic 3-irons". You win or you lose. For me winning is fun and losing sucks. Having played with a low PR is a small consolation.
Bottom line: In backgammon I get frustrated when I lose. I get frustrated over the dice, even though I can't control them. In golf I get frustrated at myself when I play poor shots, noting that this is something which is within my control.
