Having been an avid enthusiast of both games, I can offer my

Five reasons why Backgammon is Like Golf:

1. Either one can end your marriage if you do too much of it without your wife;

2. Either one can end your marriage if you do too much of it with your wife;

3. Both are addictive and expensive habits;

4. You can never truly master either game and you will always be somewhat baffled and frustrated no matter how good you get;

5. Both games will help you make lasting friendships with truly crazy, compulsive people.
