It certainly wasn't me who suggested increasing the delay time. We shouldn't even consider coddling players who've used too much time earlier in the match!

Considering that this wasn't a clock mandatory event but instead was clock's preferred I can understand why Linda offered both players the decision to not play the last game clocked, noting most importantly that there were no pending matches being held up by this match. But if it was clock mandatory, the director certainly cannot propose this.
