Couple other things to mention. Other than the myself/Francois example a better example might be myself/Larry Liebster. The fact that I have 3 seconds left is a non issue but for someone like Larry he will time out a good deal of the time even with 7 seconds left. I'm clearly at a much bigger advantage in this situation than I would be without a clock.

Two cocked rolls in a row and he is in big trouble, unless he has an opponent that shows admirable sportsmanship.

If you are in time trouble and roll two cocked rolls in a row you deserve to lose. Nobody seems to really like my advice but I'll keep saying it, 'learn to roll'.

As for 'admirable sportsmanship' I wouldn't think that what you're suggesting is allowed by the rules.
