Fischer time settings

In Response To: Clocks that "give back" time (Tom Keith)

I do not see any problem with the Simple Delay system used. However, I am wondering why no one ever mentions Fischer settings (Tom's proposable is an hybrid Fischer/SimpleDelay)?

on GammonSite the standard tourney time settings are 3 min + 5 sec/move. Timers resets after each game.

It could be changed to 2 min/match point and still 5 seconds added per move if you do not want to reset it midgame (for instance I remember one instance where i was very short on time and dropped a takeable cube so the game will end so my clock would reset to 3 min).

for completeness: on GS, when you time out you lose a point and the game continue (you get credited with half the initial time (1:30 by default). Check http://www.gammonsite.com/timers.asp for complete clock rules.
