For these two experts, on this day, having fun did not cut into the quality of play.

Good for them. I'm not good enough to use even a quarter of my brain to chit chat and banter. I have to focus.

Here's the bottom line: if you're playing me, and somehow you have some expectation of mindless blather during the match, and it offends you when I don't... too bad. It is not possible for me to care any less about your need for social validation when playing.
