I'm greedy, so I rip off three here. Yes, this leaves a gap and leaves blue odd-ended. But the chicken play (10/5 61/(3)) also leaves blue odd-ended.

If blue is not hit, the gammon is likely (blue has 17 transitions to make to save gammon) but not as much of a lock as if blue already has three checkers off.

I fail to see the utility of deliberately leaving a shot, so these are the only two rolls I'd consider.
