It is a thematic competition. In chess we used to play thematic tournaments where everyone uses the same opening. Many other themes can be used too. For instance Nackgammon. It is important that the game rules remain the same.

Nackgammon is a tabi of backgammon (a certain legal position). Can some iranian translate tabia? In chess we used that as an old iranian term for a position to start from.
