White is XG Roller++
score: 3
pip: 14815 point match pip: 167
score: 9
Blue is BGO ReadersXGID=----abE-C--abD--b-Bbb-ab-A:1:1:1:46:9:3:0:15:10 Blue to play 46 Of the two reasonable ways to play a 6, running out to the 15pt is my pick. If XG wants to hit there, it may have to sacrifice its midpoint, or otherwise divide its forces.
At a time when we are trailing in the race, coming down to the bar point seems like the wrong idea. We gain little if we are missed. Making the bar point in front of XG’s anchor on the 5pt is a small advantage. When XG can hit, however, we give it the opportunity to run one checker with tempo, just what the race leader wants to do.
In addition, slotting the bar when we are outboarded and have a loose checker vulnerable to attack in XG’s inner board is anti-thematic, to say the least.
R (Run) = bar/15
