Hit or Go?, is there a magic formula for this?

My own very rough rule of thumb is to run when my opponent has 8 checkers or fewer left on the board. Here, all the blotting numbers and blue's closed board tilt the decision towards hanging around.

And of course the match score comes into play sometimes...
