@Timothy: Two things I don't like with 6/4 , 6/2:

1) While it does give white a shot it does nothing with advancing our back checkers which is our game plan (race) and our main liability.

2) Although it does give us a chance to make one more inner point, at the same time it is a commitment, as next turn(s) (given that which misses the shot) we need to cover this blot.

White has plenty of game and I think pay now is a good option.

@konstantin: 17/13 6/4 looks quite clever. On the other hand it does have the same drawback as 6/4,6/2 which is the commitment (I think the word "commitment" is not the best to describe this concept, but I am not good with bg terminology)
