I agree with you Michael. I am strictly a casual no money player,but having a choice between rated and non-rated is the best as the server should have players also who wish to have rated games. That way, you can attract more players. I would prefer free money, but I believe that a player should have the choice between free money and real money. Also,as I believe I posted before,a person who is a beginner or intermediate should be paired up with players at their particular level and when they improve, they could be paired with more advanced players.
