Speed Gammon Time Settings

Hi. I know this is the current controls in DBGF. But speedgammon is in its birth and my experience from playing about 50 speedmatches along with some comments from other people is that it is not "speedy enough".

What happens is that the first time people play speedgammon they generally think that they have less time than they in reality have, and hurry along and play speedgammon at the pace it is supposed to be played. But with some experience the more clever people figure out that 10 seconds per move is almost as much time as normal backgammon and if you start utilizing all that time it suddenly isn't speedgammon anymore but more like snail backgammon.

If you want to optimize your time in speedgammon you can simply use all the extra time you get from 10 seconds per move to do mechanical work like counting pips and estimating gammons, thinking about future cube situation etc and in this process it is simply not very speedy anymore. The only thing speedy then is that you don't have a timebank to sit around and think about a move or cubeaction for ages. However the general movement of the game can be slower than regular backammon which is not what we want.
