4(2) is pure but seems like an overplay.
5/2, 7/6 pays later. The big concern for me is that the position is short on flexibility after this move.
5/2, 13/12 pays now and leaves only 4/36 immediate shots. Since White doesn't cover his homeboard blot every time, it's closer to 3/36 (effective) immediate shots. Sometimes there will be shots the following turn as well. FURTHER, how much better is one on the 13 and one on the 12 compared to two on the 13 in regards to getting home safely? In other words, is the flexibility of the split checkers in the outfield just an illusion?
