It looks like XG has us out-timed here. Even if we don’t hit now, we may be forced to cough up a shot later, anyway. Besides that, hitting now makes us a favorite to get the closeout. Of course, if XG gets the return hit, we will lose many gammons. On the other hand, when XG misses the shot, we will win a fair share of gammons.

After the hit, we cannot play any half measures. Since we figure to lose if XG makes the return hit, we may as well bring a builder down from the midpoint.
